I’ve been dying to try Jamie’s Italian in Causeway Bay since it’s opening, but it’s popularity among HK’ers meant it would yield long queues. So, earlier this month, I decided to try our luck with a table by having an early bird dinner (@5pm). I put Upper Modern Bistro on my must-try restaurant list ever since they opened its doors last year. Why? Because I’ve been reading rave review’s of Chef Philippe Orrico’s first restaurant. Formally the executive chef of St George at Hullett House (and prior to that, a chef at Pierre of Mandarin Oriental) Chef Philippe has earned himself quite a reputation.
Work hasn’t been exactly a breeze recently, so I’ve been easing my work pain with delicious meals on the weekends. And last weekend when I was craving Japanese food again, we had an impromptu lunch at the fabulous Inagiku, located in IFC mall, adjacent to the Four Seasons.
I know that the licorice taste of raw fennel is not for everyone. But, if you love raw fennel, you might like this vibrant citrus salad. It’s quick to throw together and you can even prepare it in advance and toss everything together when you are ready to serve.
