Last weekend I had brunch with my bestie, K (+ her hubby and cutie pie baby, R) at Grand Central Bar & Grill. This hip urban American sports bar and grill concept restaurant might not strike you as being too family-friendly. But surprisingly, it has a kids menu, high chair’s and is filled with families on the weekend afternoon’s.
This 2 level restaurant is located in the corner of Elements’ Civic Square. The main bar is on the ground floor with a dining area which is rustic and cozy. The upper level space is more industrial chic with windows allowing the open space to fill with light during the day [I personally prefer the upper level].
This versatile restaurant attracts the ICC investment banking crowd for happy hour drinks, tired Elements shoppers for popular American comfort food during lunch and dinner, and families living in the area for weekend brunches.
Their brunch menu has a selection of classic breakfast choices, burgers and sandwiches, pasta and seafood. It took me a while to decide between the GC Classic Burger and Eggs Benedict, but the idea of having a side of fries with the burger was the tie breaker.
The burger was huge and decent, but I thought the crispy skinny fries were the best part.
Both my hubby and K ordered the All-American Breakfast and the feedback I got from them was, *shrugs* “it was ok”.
I guess I’m not exactly raving about the food at GC Bar & Grill, but I would say it was good enough. It is however, a nice space to relax in for a weekend brunch, whether you are catching up with old friends or simply spending time with your family.
What we ordered:
All-American Breakfast x 2
GC Classic Burger
Linguini Bolognese
Soft drinks + coffee
Brunch Total (4 people) = ~$900
