Our relationship started in primary school. I remember my addiction to you, how I would think about meeting you at home right after school. My craving for you soon wore off and I turned to others to satisfy my hunger.
Our on-again-off-again relationship persisted into adulthood. And our midnight rendezvous became more frequent after I moved to HK. I can’t live without you, but sometimes I hate it when I am forced to meet you too frequently.
My beloved instant noodles, we need to take a break again. I will seek you out when I am ready for you again.
Strangely as it may sound, I’ve always loved instant noodles. But, It’s one of those things where you would crave if you haven’t had in a while, and would detest if eaten too often.
Being a work gal in HK I sometimes work long hours, and when I get home it’s too late to cook or order in, so instant noodles is a quick and convenient option. In the past few weeks I’ve had countless bowls of these MSG noodles and the thought of having it for the 4th night this week really put me off, this is why I’m writing this post.
As unhealthy as these noodles are, it has become a big part of our modern lifestyle. Instant noodles are dried or pre-cooked noodles that are cooked in boiling water for a few minutes and flavored with a MSG powder. You can pretty much have a hot bowl of noodles in under 3 minutes (and for 4HKD).
There are many brands and many flavors available, but my favorite has always been Nissin’s Sesame oil flavor, what is yours?
I have a love-hate relationship with instant noodles too, I sometimes have cravings for them but feel so unhealthy after slurping a bowl.
